Report: Tangshan Jinma Steel to build production base in Inner Mongolia

Construction is expected to begin in 2020, with production starting 3 years later

SHANGHAI, May 27 (SMM) – Tangshan Jinma Steel in China's top steelmaking province of Hebei will invest 12.5 billion yuan to build a steel production base in Ningcheng county, Chifeng city of Inner Mongolia, according to a statement on the website of the Ningcheng government on April 24. 

Construction is expected to begin in 2020, with production starting three years later.  

Designed with an annualised capacity of 3 million mt of quality steel, the project will employ 6,000 people.  

The production base will also replace 1.8 million mt of coke capacity from Chifeng Defeng Coke plant, and to manufacture methanol and ammonia.
